By eliminating the acid, you get rid of heartburn. Peppermint also eases gas and symptoms of irritable bowel movement. By chewing peppermint leaves is another way to deal with heartburn.
  • Apple cider vinegar- This is another way to deal with heartburn, it promotes healthy digestion. It also helps to clear the body of toxins, the same time. You can either use this method by either liquid or capsules. If you choose the liquid method, you might want to add water and honey to smooth the taste.
  • Fennel tea- This is another great way to help with heartburn. If you want to make your own fennel tea, all you have to do is boil a couple fennel seeds in water. To add the healing properties of this tea, just add a drop of peppermint oil.
  • Ginger- By using fresh ginger is not only delicious but one of the oldest remedies for heartburn. Ginger reduces inflammation caused by heartburn and treat nausea as well. You can either add ginger to the food you cook or eat it raw. There are also ginger tea and tablets that is available at your local health food store.
  • Baking soda and water- This might not be your remedy of choice because it taste terrible but it get rid of your heartburn instantly. Add approximately 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda to a glass of warm water and drink quickly. If you are on a salt restricted diet, you might want to avoid this home remedy as baking soda contains sodium.
  • Chamomile- This is rich in calcium and will lower stomach acid that causing heartburn symptoms.
  • Healthy anti heartburn fruits- Fruits such as bananas, papayas and rhubarb have shown to reduce heartburn drastically. Papayas can be eaten fresh or taken as a tablet which you can purchase at a health store. Rhubarb can be eaten raw. They help to calm the stomach and neutralize the acid that causes heartburn and acid reflux.

Heartburn is often times a symptom of a more serious condition, so it is important for you to meet with your doctor to discuss dosage that you can take. Natural remedies like these are great ways for you to deal with occasional heartburn.

This is useful info for me because i have bouts of heartburn now and then.

Citrus fruits are a 'no go area' for me, because it just makes my chest burn.

I do take ginger occasionally. That probably accounts for relief i do get at times.

Thanks for these remedies. No more over the counter drugs for me.
