Food and Beauty

Beauty goes deeper than your skin, matter of fact, it goes way deeper; beauty has a lot to do with your diet too. Although oils and topical creams can help your skin and hair look more radiant, the best way to glow is from within, which means eating right. Spend money on delicious foods instead, rather than every cosmetics you can think of.

Here are the requirements for healthy skin and beauty;

  • Use antioxidants which helps to protect your skin from the damaging effects of UV rays,and may also help skin cancer. Foods with high antioxidants are; green leafy vegetables, green tea, prunes, blueberries, citrus fruits and spinach.
  • It is recommended to drink at least 8- 10 pints of water each day. If you are thirty, so is your skin- it is essential to drink plenty of water everyday, either spring or filtered water. Vegetables and juicy fruits such as strawberries, celery and watermelon helps with your hydration needs.
  • Use selenium which is mineral that is used by your body to create protein with antioxidant properties. A handful of Brazil nuts is the best source of selenium. If you cannot find those, other nuts will do. Turkey, fish, brown rice, and whole grain wheat pasta will also help but nothing compares to nuts.
  • Consume omega fatty acids to maintain healthy cell membranes to keep your cells hydrated and free of toxins. Flax and hemp seeds are source of omega fatty acid. Walnuts, wild salmon and sardines can also give your cells a boost.

  • Use vitamin A and C to help your body produce sebum, serves as natural conditioner, with the oil secreted by hair follicles. To get good source of vitamin use these foods; kale, broccoli, spinach, and Swiss chart. Your hair needs plenty of protein to grow, foods such as lentils, beans, and other legumes are great source of iron, protein and zinc.
  • It is vital to avoid refined and processed carbs; chewy foods such as bread and crackers tend to get stuck under the gum and promote bacterial growth. Drink plenty of water and liquid to help wash away those tiny particles left behind.
  • Use pholyphenols which is found green and black teas, it helps to prevent plague and reduce your chances of developing cavities.
  • Cranberries has a compound that prevent bacteria from sticking to gum, make sure your cranberry juice is loaded with extra sugar.

Whole healthy foods will keep and make you look and feel fantastic, so it makes sense that balance in your body shows up as beauty on the outside. The emphasis of this hub is whole foods not supplements. Supplements can be good for some people that have deficiency, it is always good to get your nutrition from the best foods you can find. Eat well and be beautiful.
