71Cheap cars
Well there is definitely a upside to the recession and apocalypse, is that there has never been a better market for fun to drive cheap cars. Here is a kick off of cars for under $25,000 dollars.
- Suzuki Sx4; take one of this baby out and you might be charmed. We all have a friend or would like a friend like Suzuki's small hatch- its bright and personable and chronically unable to get a date. The new Sx4, with a zingy engine, sporty handling, and build quality every bit the equal of its competition, which is criminally overlooked. It is cheerful, cheap, and really does put out.
- Jeep Wrangler; Of late stalwart Jeeps seems to have a resurgence. Or maybe it is an icon, whose unique position in the market to it as SUVs get soft? Whatever it is, it has returned with a bang. I still think of it as AK-47 for the road; crude, cheap but works every time.
- Mazda MAZDA2; It does for the econo car what it does for the sports car. It weighs even less than its sports car relation, it is one of the trimmest on the market. Not only does it go- with a punny 1.5 liter motor- but now it got four doors and a back seat.
- Volkswagen Golf TDI; If you are too much of cantankerous to buy a Hybrid, then go for Golf TDI. You can still get exceptional full economy in the 40s on the highway- plus lots of room and many different parts comforts of German engineering.
- Chevrolet Cruze; well for the youngsters, GM is hoping you forget the Cobalt like a bad hookup. Its an all new 1.4 liter turbo, squeezes a stellar 40 mpg from a gallon and delivers better than decent acceleration. However, in 2012, expect stiff competition from Ford Focus. Well, let the American car wars begin!

Cheap Cars
- Hyundai Sonata Turbo; Hyundai turbo charged Sedan will wax many a sport compact in a stop light quarter mile. There is really no shame in a lifetime covert performance, no matter your age or station in life.
- MINI Cooper; It is not the last word in reliability, but it still top in driving pleasure. Like the Miata, the Mini has come down with a bad case of chick car-itis- but we are smarter than that. Ultra miserly with your hard earned gas money, and has handling chops to shame machinery with double the power and triple the sticker. Well man up and get the girlie car already!
- Nissan Juke; This is reliable, cheap and fast, is just an adage for car fans. You can have it all with the steroidal crossover based on the Versa econo- car platform. It sure ain't pretty- grippy, zippy four wheel drive juke, looks a little buggy. But unless you are insecure, I say go for it. Man, you won't believe how well it scoots.
- Mazda Miata; Miata reminds the world that it is a fun car, tipping the scales at svelte 2500 pounds, light is right. The 2o year old Miata remains the gold standard in sports car, with possibly great steering and great handling packed into a reliable, fuel sipping car. Believe me anyone who says it is for secretaries is a meat-head.
- Ford Mustang v6; Boy oh boy, ford mustang entry level mustang is no longer a pantywaist for the Hertz lot at the Ft. Myers airport. It makes over 300 horsepower, gets 30 mpg high way and better yet, handles better than ever. The main problem? Not sniggering at your fellow Mustang owners who bought the V8.
